April Reflections from the Brushstrokes & Bubbly Studio
Ever wonder what it’s like to capture the magic of a wedding as it’s happening—with a brush in one hand, a glass of bubbly nearby, and love literally in the air?

Let me take you behind the scenes of what it’s like to be a live wedding painter.
Every wedding day starts with butterflies (yes, even for me!). I arrive early, scope out the venue, and quietly set up my station. I try to stay tucked off to the side—but still close enough to feel the energy, the emotion, and those beautiful little moments that often go unnoticed.
Once the vows are exchanged and the party begins, I start painting. There’s a rhythm to it—observing, sketching, painting, adjusting. I’m constantly tuning into the room’s vibe while keeping an eye on key details: the bride’s smile, the way the couple holds hands, the way the light dances through the flowers. I never really know what exact moment I’ll end up capturing—it reveals itself naturally.
People often come up to chat, peek at the paintings, or just say how fun it is to watch their pieces come to life. Those conversations always remind me why I do this. It’s not just about the art—it’s about connection.

By the end of the night, I’m usually covered in watercolor splatters, my hands are sore, and I’m on a serious emotional high. There’s something deeply special about knowing that each guest, couple, child will hang on to their unique painting —something I created.
So when you see those finished paintings shared on social media, just know there’s a whole world behind each canvas. A world of nerves, joy, improvisation, and pure creative heart.
Until the next “I do,”
